Introduction

With this web page we would like to show some performance results, we measure while evaluating cluster hardware.
We would like to see performance as a general term consisting for example of cpu performance, but also networking performance or application throughput. Typically these results are not enough to be published in a paper but are of interest to other research groups as well. And if this should not be the case, we will use this page for us to have a summarization of our work :-)

CPU Performance

With ATLAS an automatic tuning software package determines best parameters
for your CPU to gain most performance for number crunching. After a run of
several hours in which the optimal number of registers and pipelining stages are evaluated, a library is build consisting, for example, of basic linear algebra routines.

Currently the AMD Athlon CPU competes with Intels PIII processor. A comparison is shown in the following table:
